Since the economic downturn, I have heard amazing stories of selflessness. I have heard of older employees retiring so younger employees with families can be spared lay offs. I have heard of those who have lost their jobs volunteering in homeless shelters. Recently, I read about a local company that donated $1 million to local charities, despite experiencing economic hardship. Not everyone can do something so big, but each of us can do something small.
In this spirit, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of my artwork at the 2nd Saturday event on August 8th will be donated to Sacred Heart Community Services.
