Purpose Driven Wind

I grew up in the shadows of these windmills in the foothills of Altamont Pass outside of Livermore. When cool air from the Bay Area’s marine layer meets with the warm air of the San Joaquin Valley it produces wind. The wind turns the windmills which creates electricity.

Seeing those windmills was a nice reminder that we all have a purpose.

I tease Christina that we have nice wine in our house the way some people have fancy bathroom towels. Neither is allowed to be used unless guests are over.

Trash the Dress, Mazatlan

Ashley and Rob love authentic Mexico, so we went on a sightseeing trip of Mazatlan a few days after their wedding. This style of photography is commonly called, “Trash the Dress.” One look at the bottom photos and you’ll understand why.

Pushing Ourselves

I’ve been thinking about what makes some people more successful than others. After editing my photos of the cliff divers in Mazatlan, I thought this image was a nice reminder of what is possible when we push ourselves.

The second photo is the water the divers jump into. If the rocks aren’t scary enough, the water level fluctuates between 6 and 10 feet deep and the height of the jump is about 35 feet.

Bittersweet

This is the reaction of Christina and her family as her sister, Nicole, and her brother-in-law Cliff announced they are expecting a baby boy. A joyous occasion for sure!

Unfortunately, Christina’s grandmother, Marcella Lucarotti, passed away two days after this photo was taken. I thought I would share this photo because it’s a reminder of the circle of life and that through grief we can find reasons to be happy.

I like this photo, not only because of how excited everyone is, but because Marcella can be seen in the framed wedding photo on the wall. Though no longer physically with us, she will always be with us in spirit.
