About
John Stubler knows a single image can transcend words and connect people. Upon graduating with a degree in photojournalism, John joined the staff of an award-winning newspaper in Northern California. Life as a newspaper photographer disciplined him to seek art in the every day, and he developed an instinctual skill for capturing light, composition and moments.
John’s slice-of-life photographs have earned him numerous awards from the National Press Photographers Association. His work has appeared in the LA Times, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post, San Jose Mercury News and the Miami Herald. Falling in love and getting married sparked a newfound passion for working with couples on their wedding day. In 2006, John founded Stubler Photography in Northern California’s Bay area. John documents the first moments of a couple’s new life with images that are romantic, spontaneous and modern.
Christina Stubler, a.k.a. the charming assistant, is a bride’s best friend.
She honors the Girl Scout’s motto and comes to every wedding prepared. Her bag of tricks includes scissors, bandages, floss, nail polish, a sewing kit, safety pins, and candy (for those last-minute-low-blood-sugar jitters).
Christina works behind the scenes to gather all the important players for portraits and keeps her keen eye on the details. Her experience as a journalist taught her how to work with photographers and stay calm in the midst of chaos.
John and Christina married in September 2005 and have been happy ever since.
